What is a

Moyen Poodle?

Moyen Poodles are bred from a Standard Poodle and a Miniature Poodle. These Poodles weigh between 20 & 35 pounds. Although the AKC doesn't recognize Moyens as a separate breed they can still be registered with AKC as long as the parents are registered.

Moyen Poodles are recognized as a breed through United Kennel Club(UKC) & Federation Cynologique Internationale(FCI). In France the 4 sizes of poodles are Standard, Moyen(French word for Medium), Miniature, and Toy.

Germany refers to the Moyen Poodle as a "Klein" which is "small" as they are smaller than the standards. Poodles are a type of water dog that originated in Germany. Poodles got their name from "Pudel" or "Pudelin" which is a German word that means "to splash in the water."
